Well a good mod might be to creat blank music files to replace the in-game music...or maybe just delete it to keep the grammophone?

I could never get any news broadcast either, just the theme song over and over. It said I was on the "Washington" channel. I also hate playing with the music on, so I just chucked it, turned off the music, and went about my business. Did enjoy the occasional text news messages, however...
