Default Vista Transformation Pack (pics)

I tried out the Windows XP to Vista Transformation Pack today, which gives you the cosmetic changes and a few Vista features without sacrificing XP.

I'm quite impressed as I have all the selling points of Vista, for free (legally, mind you) and its all stable and secure

Besides that I doubt that it is 100% legal, you don´t get DX10, which would so far be the only reason for me to upgrade to Vista.

Yes its kinda like StyleXP themes, www.wincustomize.com you can install it either way using the setup.exe install or use stylexp to load it. Ive been using these vista packs since the early versions which were a bit buggy but the latest Vista transformation pack 6 is well done, minus the widgets, they tend to cause slowdowns.

Ok. Since I don´t care about visual improvements or the sidebar I´m not going to install it. I´ll buy a DX10 card in Q1 2008 and then upgrade to Vista, if by then when don´t have DX10 for XP. If we do I´ll use XP for the next two years or so.

A wise choice,

Vista Transformation pack is really "The Poor mans Vista" :p

If MS bring out DX10 for XP i would probably stay with XP for a long time.

Good to know we can have the "Eye Candy" without the VI$TA :rotfl:

I still have my XP looking "Classic". Runs very smooth without all the XP "Eye Candy"
