Default Hey Look! A French Foreign Legion game!

http://www.city-interactive.com/inde...=code_of_honor

I wonder if they will issue white flags and rubber bullets with those rifles in game? Could end up being the most realistic french fighting sim game ever!

La Marseillaise ...

Allons enfants de la Patrie,
Le jour de gloire est arrivé !
Contre nous de la tyrannie,
L'étendard sanglant est levé, (bis)
Entendez-vous dans les campagnes
Mugir ces féroces soldats ?
Ils viennent jusque dans vos bras
Egorger vos fils et vos compagnes !

Refrain:
Aux armes, citoyens,
Formez vos bataillons,
Marchons, marchons !
Qu'un sang impur
Abreuve nos sillons !

1
Que veut cette horde d'esclaves,
De traîtres, de rois conjurés ?
Pour qui ces ignobles entraves,
Ces fers dès longtemps préparés ? (bis)
Français, pour nous, ah ! quel outrage
Quels transports il doit exciter !
C'est nous qu'on ose méditer
De rendre à l'antique esclavage !
(au Refrain)

2
Quoi ! des cohortes étrangères
Feraient la loi dans nos foyers !
Quoi ! ces phalanges mercenaires
Terrasseraient nos fiers guerriers ! (bis)
Grand Dieu ! par des mains enchaînées
Nos fronts sous le joug se ploieraient
De vils despotes deviendraient
Les maîtres de nos destinées !
(au Refrain)

3
Tremblez, tyrans et vous perfides
L'opprobre de tous les partis,
Tremblez ! vos projets parricides
Vont enfin recevoir leurs prix ! (bis)
Tout est soldat pour vous combattre,
S'ils tombent, nos jeunes héros,
La terre en produit de nouveaux,
Contre vous tout prêts à se battre !
(au Refrain)

4
Français, en guerriers magnanimes,
Portez ou retenez vos coups !
Epargnez ces tristes victimes,
A regret s'armant contre nous. (bis)
Mais ces despotes sanguinaires,
Mais ces complices de Bouillé,
Tous ces tigres qui, sans pitié,
Déchirent le sein de leur mère !
(au Refrain)

5
Amour sacré de la Patrie,
Conduis, soutiens nos bras vengeurs
Liberté, Liberté chérie,
Combats avec tes défenseurs ! (bis)
Sous nos drapeaux que la victoire
Accoure à tes mâles accents,
Que tes ennemis expirants
Voient ton triomphe et notre gloire !
(au Refrain)

6
Nous entrerons dans la carrière
Quand nos aînés n'y seront plus,
Nous y trouverons leur poussière
Et la trace de leurs vertus (bis)
Bien moins jaloux de leur survivre
Que de partager leur cercueil,
Nous aurons le sublime orgueil
De les venger ou de les suivre
(au Refrain)

Splendid, a French sim! Now I can recreate the retreat from Dunkirk, the retreat from Vietnam, the retreat from Korea, the retrea from Algeria, and the pullout from Afghanistan and Iraq!

Be fun to do fighting, sorry, panicked retreats instead of advances for once.

Like the real foreign legion, do you have to learn 'the language of surrender' in order to play the game?

Might check out the demo over my holiday.

Game looks a bit poor, I found this game a couple of months ago and I was really hypped about it, because I almost joined the legion once in real life.
But I quickly lost my euphoria for the game when I saw the graphics.
It's up to the gameplay now.

It indeed is an interesting theme, as the French Foreign Legion is under-used, but if game-play isn't up to par, it's not interesting to me.

My cousin´s brother-in-law served the 5 year minimum time in the FL. He didnt like to talk about it. But he shed some light on how the things work in the service. The official stand is that the corporal punishment nowadays is usually few weeks in lock-up, but unofficially, if you are serving in some remote place and try to desert, there is a very good change that you will be shot if you refuse to stop and surrender.

Also, he said that there is ALOT that public doesnt know/dont want to know about their ops.

Even if the training is very hard, it sounds weird to desert le Legion, because she offers a protection against what u done before entering it.

You sign a contract for a minimum of 5 years.

So in other words, the French fight just fine when it's not Frenchmen fighting? What with the Foreign Legion being what it is:p?

Ah, yes. I confused that with the name change thing that is three years. Thanks for pointing it out.

And to answer AKA44; People dont think what kind of commitment the FL is when they join. When you are brought to the regiment, you then realise that your butt is theirs for the next five() years.
