Default Question about the Documentary Film

Hello guys, kinda new to this forum as this I believe is my first post. However I have been here before in the past but I haven't posted.

In the documentary film on www.silenthunter4.com, it shows the Gato fireing a yellow tipped torpedo at a Japanese warship. My question is this, when American torpedoes had yellow tips, did that mean they were training torpedoes? Reason I ask this is because I recall a post in here stating that they were, but watching the torpedo actually hit the ship and cause a detonation like a regular armed torpedo made me wonder if Ubi made a mistake in their torpedo design.

Thanks in advance for any answers or comments.

Regards,
Acmark

Just as shells torpedos have collors to desinate type of torpedo, yellow indacates a Training torpedo while blue indacates a warshot.

The yellow warhead indicates a practice torpedo. At the end of the run, the water ballast in the warhead would be expelled by compressed air, bringing the torpedo to the surface, where it could be recovered.

Default Yellow warheads are training dummys

It's likely that the video clip was from a beta build, or it may have been edited to show the impact. Of course, the developers could have goofed and left it in--there is always the human element.

Thanks for the replies guys...

If it is an error it won't make much difference in game play (as long as they weren't real training torpedoes) on my part because I love to play with the external views off.
