Default 1 million total tonnage mark broken

Ok its the 7th of November 1942 id like to thank all the crew of U-105 for making this virtually possible but I just broke the 1 million total tonnage mark without a death. Luck has been on my side to make this mark I have done flat out stupid things and even managed to get the submarine to 2% and survived the ordeal. The next big mark is 1.5 million then hopefully 2 million.

Here is tonnages to related subs

U-2 type IIA with 28 127 tonnes 3 patrols
U-48 type VIIB 191 506 tonnes 7 patrols

These two subs contributed a quater of the score and deserve a commendation. (Total of 219 633 tons)

U-105 type IXB 780 372 tonnes over 13 patrols This sub scored two 100K runs 1 94 K run and has kept me at the above 50K level average for each one of my patrols it has been my work horse sub and is my pride and joy.

Im not doing this to brag and boast im sure its no big acheivement for some people out there but form me its I never expected to sink this much tonnage or even survive for as long as I have. Lets hope I don't jynx myself and lets see what the end of the war can bring me. I have managed to score this in about 2 weeks whcih is when I seriosly played SH3 other than then I played SH3 minorly when I got it and SH1 in the late 90's. Seemingly ive still got some of that submarine piloting ability left over which let me cross the mark. 2 weeks ago I installed and un installed GWX 3-4 times. The first time I tried it I said screw this its too hard, same with all the other times this was in the span of 2 days. Then I sat down and said to myself I can't be overly stupid anymore I have to concentrate and not be like Gunther Prien (I used to use the deck gun waaaay too much) until I finally started a career. Which has apparently turned out fairly well. I hope this can motivate some other people to GWX its a great mod its hard at first but with a small adjustment of playing style it becomes quite easy but it always tells you dont get cocky when you try something daring. Sometimes you get lucky like my raid on valetta where I sunk 8 warships in shallow water this compromised of 6 different Destroyers including 1 river class and 1 black swan and 2 Flower Corvettes. However a few patrols before that I attacked a convoy surfaced thinking it was safe after I took out the escort until the whaling ships starting shooting machine guns at me which lowered my hull integrety to 2% and had me crawling back to port. SH3 is an excellent game and I think its good me hooked more then ever before.

Nice going Spray! I'm also a big type 9 fan! Love the extra bit of speed and all those torpedoes! My recent patrol is getting rather frustrating, I've fired two whole spreads at a battleship and the thing is still cruising along in the center of a convoy! Of course though only 4 have actually hit him and they were all in the stern area, I have so much better luck when they hit forward. If I were in a type 7 I'd be on my way home already but as it is I'm overhauling for another try! I really want to sink that sucker LOL

Once you get into 1944 you may want to trade that type 9 in for a 7c, would give you a much better chance of surviving in the late war. Deck it out with all the late war goodies and be careful out there

Well done mate Now stop showing off and go out there to make the tonnage 2,000,000

BTW out of curiosity, what realism settings are you using? (I'm not saying this to put you down, I just want to see how different realism settings affect the tonnage)
