Default Anyone tried Austrialian ports?

Is there any traffic in any of the Aussie ports? Worth going there?

I believe Ducimus has. Said there is activity there.

If you are using GWX then yes there is. It would be a bit remiss of the Devs if they didn't include alive ports in OZ. At the very least JScones would have something to say about it.

There is a fair amount of traffic around Australian ports but the waters are too shallow, and the whole adventure can be really dangerous in late 1944-45

All i can say is the last patrol of my U-196 game (see log, patrol 4) was all along the easteran aussy coast. Just hug the shallow water line, along the deep water side of it. I encountered 3 convoys, and a few juicy small convoy's.

I returned to port with 6 torpedo's. SO i could have sank a bit more then i did.

Overall, i think the players of GWX would be remiss if they didnt spend some time in the indian ocean. The place is alot more populated. Just dont expect any renown for any psudeo patrol grids assigned. Infact i ignored those completly. Eastern affrica? Suuure.. i went to oz instead

I visited Sydney whilst beta testing v1.02 and some lazy bugger hadn't bothered scripting the opera house in :hmm:

Without being 100% sure, I don't think the Opera House was there at the time. If I remember correctly the planning started in the late 1040s and the construction work started in 1958-59. So the scripting in GWX is fine. Can you imagine Jaesen's fury if something like that was missing
