Default merchant convoys vs warship convoys

Of course I am guessin at this point but in the pacifc fighting the japenese there should be more efford in game of warships encounters than merchants? did the japenese have merchant convoys? smaller? more warship encounters? will be cool to find out thats for sure I am worried that they are turning sh series into eye candy and leavin the interior of the subs incomplete hope not no matter i'm sure it will be cool stuff

It will be more varied than SHIII(I Hope). The japanese did all kinds of
crazy things Like Convoys later in the war,one or two merchants with 3
or more escorts, hunter killer groups and there were quite of few sorties
of warships and carrier groups.

Default Warships

I think that war ship targets were a much higher priority in the Pacific naval war.

Actually, not really. The IJN fleet had far flung bases - and a real suppy problem from 1944 on - so they were forced to do a lot of "to'in and fro'in". And their many cruises coupled w/ Ultra intercepts meant that US subs had many opportunities to hit high value targets. But the "bread and butter" targets were still merchies.

Whatever the mix, it sounds like there will be plenty to take a shot at! I'm sure there will be plenty of reports posted on success or near misses after SH4 is released.
