This is what I do except in the US. I'm not a driver but do the coordinating of drivers, permit, escorts, etc. I also handle AA&E which is ammunition, arms and explosives. My company also handles movement of military vehicles as well. You name it we have moved it.

So far my council is up 4 new refuse lorries wages are the same and every thing else is the same.

We cycle the lorries every 7 years staggering them a year or two apart our next set are due xmas 2007

Yeah weve got that crap here too we will maybe soon have to work our full 8 hours sometimes we can be lucky and get off after 5 hours but soon they may enforce we stay the full 8.
