He deserved it. I don't see the bloke volunteering to strap himself on to a rocket with a dogey history, to be hurled into space with untested equipment and complete the mission using all your skill when no one was sure it could be done.!

Ironically, I've been in the same situation once and came out the same way (I socked a harasser in the teeth, police investigated, police dropped). Sometimes it's the safest and surest way to solve a conflict quickly (not that I encourage it for every conflict - circumstances are everything).
