I think silent running automatically sets to ahead slow (which, from what I can tell is hardcoded). You can slow this down by editting the .cfg data/submarine/"your submarine type"/
eg: IXC: [EngineProperties] AllStop=0.00 AheadSlow=0.40 change to 0.30 for 2kts AheadOneThird=0.57 AheadStandard=0.80 AheadFull=0.94 AheadFlank=1.00 BackSlow=-0.26 BackStandard=-0.40 BackFull=-0.53 BackEmergency=-0.66 Alternatively, you can just adjust your speed to 2 kts for silent speed manually like I do, you get used to it. |

The most important to check for silent running is that you engines RPM are not above 100. This is why I sometimes go down to 1 knt in hot situations.
