Iv only had sh3 a few days and am still very green so when i installed GWX (which is great btw) im finding the difficulty a bit hard when it comes to the enemy detecting me...
so i grabbed a little app called mini tweaker in which u can tweak the game files. after some reading i see that the AI_Sensor.dat file is the one that needs to be tweaked I reduced AI_radar, AI_sonar, AI_visual and AI_hydrophone distances by around 1/4 less than what they are set to in GWX, i would really like to put the default sh3 AI_ sensor.dat file back in but i dont want to reinstall the whole game for one file :P so if anyone could send that over it would be much appreciated ![]() what are all the other options for in the ai_sensor.dat file, they all have names like ASVmarkIV and so on, are these the settings for airplanes, ships or equipment? do you only have to change the 4 main AI_ options (AI_radar AI_sonar etc) and it applies to all ships? or do you have to change each individual type of ship or airplane settings? and then each setting for new equipment as they recieve it as the war goes on? thnx |

Think the best would have been to leave the files alone, get your hand at stock game first to learn the basics and after a few weeks of practice have a go at GWX.
This type of supermod has so many intricate settings that when you touch something sensible like the sensors you might completely make your install fubar.

Since you asked regarding for modding purposes:
Rule umber one. Back up. Rule 2-5; back up!!!:rotfl: You can easily make a second install by renaming your present GWX anything else in the program files UBI folder and install a new version of SH3 which you want to patch to 1.4. Make a complete copy of the Data folder naming it stock 1,4 Always change things outside that copy only using it as a source. Now, do the very same thing to the clean GWX, make a copy of the entire data folder. So, as you can now see you already have that file you want. You seemed like you would rather have the fishing poll than the one fish meal. Wulfmann
