After searching the threads I have noticed that some people have problems reloading torpedos. Essentially the description of the problem is that the torpedo can be dragged into the box representing the tube, but it never finishes loading.
I have a different problem. After firing all the tubes on my IX-B during a daylight submerged attack, I evaded the escorts, and eventually surfaced and worked my way into a new attack position. I went to reload the tubes, like you would, and tubes 2 through six reloaded fine. I could not for the life of me drag a torpedo into the Tube 1 position. The TDC is showing a red light, as if it was loading, but there is no torpedo in the box on the weapons screen in tube 1. Has anyone had this? I'd really like to have all six torpedoes for my second attack instead of five. HB |

Where is that #1 torp that won't load coming from, External Stores? If so you have to be surfaced and not in Silent Running.
If not and it's coming from internal stores, make sure fatigue is not a reason it's not loading.

Its internal, and not a fatigue question, as I said I physically able to drag the torpedo into position, but it would saty there, it moved back to its position in storage. This did not happen to tubes 2 through 6.
Thanks anyway. HB |

Now and then, rarely and randomly, that happens to me, too. I've two solutions when that happens.
The first I try is selecting the tube in question (in your instance, Tube 1) and then pressing 'W' to manually close the outer door. That works 90% of the time. When that fails, I turn auto-reload back on, and a torpedo pops on it's own into the available empty tube. Hope this helps! |
