Ahoy! Returning Old Salt with a quick Q....

Yarr Shipmates!

Just last night I re-installed SHIII to try out the new GWX mod (Which looks absolutely gobsmackingly awesome by the way, major kudos to the Dev team

) and I'm having a little trouble getting underway.

I'm using the 1.4 patched version of the game, with the GWX mod and the december corrections. and SH3 Commander 2.7. When I set up my career through Commander, I select the II Flotilla and a type VIIb boat, but when I start load up the game, I'm stuck with a type IIa. I've tried looking through the forums and the FAQ's but either this issue isn't listed, or more likely, I missed where it is addressed. I'm hoping an experienced Kaleun can take this returning vet under his wing and shed some light on this problem. Thanks in davance and great to be back!

**EDIT** I've tried checking and unchecking the "Historical dates for U-boat types" option in Commander and this doesn't solve the problem

Strange I never had this problem in GWX.

Are you using the extra GWX cfg file with SH3Cmd?
Did you chose the same flotilla in game as you did in SH3Cmd?
Did you rollback SH3Cmd before enabling any optional mods?

I can't think of anything else really, these are the most common issues with SH3Cmd and GWX.

Jawohl, Herr Kaleun! This was indeed the problem. I feel like such a noob.

With a Captain like me giving the orders, Bernard is the last thing my crew have to worry over. :p

I assume that when you got into the SH3 new career screen you selected 2 Flotilla? If you didn't, then you'd start in 1 Flotilla hence a Type IIA if it is early enough in the war.

FYI the "Use historic u-boat availability dates" option only changes the dates that u-boats become available - it does not alter the types available (well, apart from effectively removing the VIIC/42 and XXI).

EDIT: Ahh, I see it was indeed your problem.

SH3Cmd is rock solid Jaesen.

Nothing can break it, unless we make a mistake like forgetting to rollback, or add a mod while at sea (you know from experience that I've done this in more than one ocasion

) It's a BRILLIANT PROGRAM and we thank you for providing it and supporting it all this time.

No worries mate. I know the feeling. I did made more than one all three common mistakes I've asked you about in GW/GWX with SH3Cmd

Thankfully the program is great and rock solid, so you can always recover from it.
