Default Super Falke!

Howdy All!

I was just stalking a convoy, and had a flower corvette on my tail. I decide to use the Falke in my stern tube on him. I set the depth fairly shallow, something like 4 meters. I watched the torp conk him in the stern, then sink without exploding.

I thought I was in for it.

He got right above me, just a few meters to port. Then he upended and sank.

I guess the torp must have stove in his hull, causing a serious leak. Never had a ship sink on my like that.

Not that I'm complaining...

Are you sure the torp didn't come back to life and chase the flower again?

I had an acoustic torp bounce of the rudder of one ship and start to sink, but then it came back to life and went in a totally different direction and hit another ship which it sank.

I'm *PRETTY* sure. I watched the torp hit and then sink. I didn't watch it go all the way down though, so that might have happened. It was at pretty short range, though. I fired at roughly 700 meters

Yeah, I thought I was a goner.

Subsequently, on the next patrol, I fired another falke at a destroyer, and I noticed the phenomenon that Letum was talking about. The torp bumped the stern, stopped for a second or two, then restarted and got a good hit. It didn't sink the destroyer, but it did make him think twice about coming after me, he turned tail and ran at what was probably his best speed missing his portside prop, 14 knots. Sucks that it didn't sink him, but I'm just glad he wasn't after me anymore.

Didn't you hear the memo! All torpedos now have hull piercing detenators that even if the warhead doesn't go off the spearhead will still cause considerable damage and flooding.

That could be a bug mate...I'd have thought the eel would have detonated...I always use the magnetic setting just for that very reason (hitting props etc.)

I reckon that if your eel hits a propeller, over 50% of the time it gets deflected, goes deep then detonates. Does'nt matter whether it's an acoustic one or not.

Use Magnetic
