I have to say of course, leaving Islam alone for a minute - the whole idea of some sort of direct instruction to young kids about religion without their parents' consent sounds like a terrible idea to me. I would be near-violently opposed to it.

But let's not turn it into another religious thread, shall we?

Humbug this statement comes out every year dating right back to the active days of the IRA. Bombs are not the only weapon terrorist use and any way they could strike on any day of the year.

Although there is no doubt terror cells would make a big hit if they managed to carry out an attack during Christmas and there must be somebody out there planning or hoping for the next attack, as evidenced by Avon Lady's link, Christmas itself is currently lying at the crosshairs: unlike terror victims, it has more than one enemy, many of them being supposedly those who should be defending it.

Those who pervert our beliefs/convictions are a greater moral danger than those who deny/oppose them.
