Default GWX Super Gun

Hi

I installed GWX and tried naval artillery training mission. The fist tramp steamer sunk after 2 shell hits. Small tanker blew up after 4 hits (all under the water line). Is it normal in GWX? Guns were to weak before, now they seem to be to strong. Enyone noticed that?

Thanks

I haven't had situations quite that dramtic, ten hits maybe... but yes the GWX deck gun is meant to be more powerful. You'll find situations in which you can use it quickly diminish though.

In this video you can see the kind of punch the deck gun has:

Jeez, in all my testing of it I never got that lucky. Sounds like you hit the few sweet spots all in one go!

Deck gun feels realistic to me. Look at the video and that will tell you that yes, as little as two shots can down a ship. The gun was powerful and can blow some serious holes in the tin cans.

The GWX deck gun is just right in my opinon Though i have never sunk a ship with 2 shots you lucky bugger
The fastest i have sunk one before was 8 shots into a tramp steamer and even that was after i hit the thing with a torp

Well... in all honesty... that video looks like it was cut to be a propaganda film. It would be neat to see it un-cut... My seven years in the Army Artillery just doesn't sit well with that video.

(Don't worry... I'm not talking about big reductions in shell power... but some small change might need to be made... I'll keep eyeballing it.)

No I won't do that... I love the sound of it too much.... Besides... the sound bite for the DG is from a real howitzer firing... (I was an artilleryman remember? )

HOWEVER, it is not a primary weapon... AND if it is firing nuclear shells... I'll fix it faster than you can say "WAIT... BUT.. BUT!!!"

If things aren't challenging... they will bore you.

It is very challenging fighting it out with a dido as i did the other day one more shell and i would have sunk the bugger you got love the LRG MOD. Even though it killed my ass. I used to love fighting it out on the surface with the DD's in GW1.1a now it is a different matter.

Well I see it as this, in GW everyone said it took way to many shells. Perhaps after 30 shells the vessel was going to sink but the "she's going under" did not come up so we just kept pumping in shells until we saw the message even though she was done for 20 shells ago. Did you now change GWX to have "she's going under" when it is determinded by hit points or whatever scale was used has been obtained?

Well, I can tell you this... in RL, a gun battle between a U-boat and a Dido.... would end up with a sinking U-boat every single time.

I know that but i thought i might be cunning trying to engage it at my extreme range i was getting a few hits then bang My zig zaging had been for nought. Im not really that bold but i just could not help myself this time . You know me Kpt will try anything once.
