Default "ahead flank"...No Sir !

Salute guys !
I had a patrol today and when i reached my grid i wanted to reach another point quickly so i ordered "ahead flank" but the engine rpm jumped to .... 50 rpm .
I thought i had some damage so i looked the damage menagament and the diesel was OK.
-so my question is : sh3 commander or GW11a have some options for the random damages ??

Hi mate,

It's happened to me a couple of times. This is a SH3cmdr malfunction. IIRC you can get around it by setting a exact speed like 15kts.

Get the new SH3Commander 2.7, it has an option to turn off random malfunctions/Sabotage

I agree with you there, before this there was no reason to do a "Shakedown" before leaving on patrol.

The malfunctions/sabotage settings are enabled everytime you start SH3 via SH3Cmdr, so if you go on a 'Shakedown' cruise you can test for malfunctions/sabotage.

Leave port and find deep water. Test crash dive, flak guns (loading times), Engine faults etc...if you find something which is not to your liking you can return to port and reload via SH3Cmdr to get a whole new set of randomised faults or none at all.

Make sure the periscopes are working too, nothing will ruin your day more than going to periscope depth to attack a convoy and then finding your scope is malfunctioning.
