Some places, but the channel is not deep. At the last ice age one could walk to England.
Also, a couple of years ago a bulk carrier sunk in a storm, and never got under water.

The channel is deadly, but doable.. wait for bad weather, submerged during day, flank at night.

Those who are old enough would certainly remember the tragedy with the "Herald of free enterprise", a ferry who capsized in shallow waters in the channel.

There isnt much room under the keel, mates..

you have to make use of the shallow water by going near the edges where it is too shallow for surface ships.

Problem solved as far as I am concerned I just don't get in there... This is an order from BdU that Channel is closed to Uboats transiting to the Atlantic.

Hey, English Cannel was not designed for U-boats, so it is just something that you should expect before you go in

:rotfl: It is!!!!!

the Type II is so much fun

after all:
Low battery power
Low stock of Torpedo
crappy AA gun
Low crushing depth

that cant be just any more close too perfect no?

its just so much fun going throught the channel with the little bugger and manouvering throught the minefield going in and out of harbour to look for juicy targets

Suprising as it sounds...the English Channel is actually 120 metres at it's deepest :hmm:

The deepest parts the on the map are shown as "Depth under keel is over 1000 meters" In other words, most of the game map is over a kilometer deep. Enough for ya?

However, it's not deep enough for hunterICX's type IIA. :hmm:

I was there last night.(BdU sent me to BF29, a funny little grid where southern part is entirely in Normandie) and I did okay. I even sunk a french Cargo/Passenger ship and not a SINGLE Royal Navy ship turned up!!!!
