Default U-48

I started a new career and finished a few patrols in the IIA, then I got the command of U-48 VIIB.

Was this the most successful boat during the war, and the one they called the red devil boat? I can see on uboat.net that it had 51 ships sunk and commanded by 6-7 kaleuns, many of them got the knights cross.

Looks like it's a heck of a boat I got this time, I better survive this career

U-48... The black cat boat. Don't let Schultz, Rösing, and Bleichrodt down!

Good Luck!

Can't honestly say which boat was the most successful...however, the two most successful kaleuns were Kretschmer and Luth but neither of them ever commanded U-48 :hmm:

Did some searching, U-48 was indeed the most successful boat of the war with a total of 53 ships sunk, it was also for a period commanded by Bleichrodt.

Some info and pics here: http://www.iol.ie/~hofnanet/pages/U48.html

Yep, I better sink em all, otherwise Donitz gonna send me to the russian front.

I'm in the office now to get enough crew, Bernard is stuck in the aft torpedoroom but I don't think he can do much damage in there. I will probably get him out sooner or later. SH3 I love you

Sink some for the Norsemen, will you..? And about Bernard: Just tell him to stick his tongue at the batteries (to check them for power....) Then he will keep quiet..

:rotfl: Well my last patrol wasn't much of a success. After two days at sea I was attacked by aircraft and ordered crash dive, but I forgot about the depth of 50m. The boat hit the bottom, bow first, all torpedo doors destroyed and some other minor stuff. I just have to return to base, Donitz gonna hang me when I arrive.

How the heck can I do such a stupid mistake Maybe I'll just leave the command with Bernard.

And I'm an airline pilot...

But I got a brilliant solution, I'll put a piece of tape over the C-key when I'm in shallow waters

Don't worry, I am sure it happened at least once to most of us...

Don't think that driving underwater is a standard feature in the training of airline pilots, or at least I hope...
