I am running SH3 with GW 1.1 (Can't wait for GWX)
I have successfully installed additional ships into my SH3 world and would like to use some of the addon aircraft that are available. Ships were easy (Drop them in the correct data file, add copy and paste the config file to each nation and then add the name to the Englishnames File) I haven't found a very clear explanation as to how to add aircraft to my SH3 world, can someone post some easy to follow instructions? Thanks |

Well its exactly the same for Aircraft as it is for ships
But :rotfl: They also have to be added to airbases Open up - C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Land And you will see a bunch of folders which are airbases belonging to different nations Ok open one up - lets say - NormalAirBaseGB which basically means a medium airbase belonging to the British Open up the LAB_NormalAirBaseGB,cfg within and you will see text [Unit] ClassName=NormalAirBaseGB UnitType=406 MaxSpeed=0.000000 MinSpeed=0.000000 Length=1 Width=1 [AirGroup 1] StartDate=19380101 <----From this date EndDate=19401231 <----To this date Squadron1Class=FBHurricaneMk1 <-----This aircraft Squadron1No=2 Squadron2Class=LBSSunderlandMKIII <----And this one are "stationed" at this base Squadron2No=1 [AirGroup 2] StartDate=19410101 EndDate=19420510 Squadron1Class=FBHurricaneMk1 Squadron1No=2 Squadron2Class=LBSSunderlandMKIII Squadron2No=1 [AirGroup 3] StartDate=19420511 EndDate=19451231 Squadron1Class=FBHurricaneMk1 Squadron1No=3 Squadron2Class=LBSPBYCatalina Squadron2No=1 Squadron3Class=LBWell Squadron3No=1 Squadron4Class=LBMk.3 Squadron4No=1 Now you can see how the files are made up If you want to add a new aircraft in place of another just replace one classname with the new one [AirGroup 1] StartDate=19380101 EndDate=19401231 Squadron1Class=FBHurricaneMk1 Squadron1No=2 Squadron2Class=FBMosquito <--- New entry Squadron2No=1 Either that or add an extra squadron to the base [AirGroup 1] StartDate=19380101 EndDate=19401231 Squadron1Class=FBHurricaneMk1 Squadron1No=2 Squadron2Class=LBSSunderlandMKIII Squadron2No=1 Squadron3Class=FBMosquito <--- Extra squadron Squadron3No=1 Hope that helps |
