After tracking a convoy in grid be64 I sent about 5 contact reports while on the surface . I was making a flanking manuver and using some the new tracking techniques that I recently learned . . To My surprise I get a yell "yes" From one of the crewman . I look on the Tdc map and there you see a red sunk silloutte . I Look In binoculers and There you see a Bow sitting up in the air . Iam scratching my head ?? I Didnt even fire a torpedo . I went to periscope for my attack run on the convoy , DaMM was off . Than 5 minutes later ,The crewman Yell "YES" I look on the tdc map and sure enough another red sunk silloute , IAm going Hell yes !! Than at 30 m I can hear a torpedo explode , and sure enough 1 more sunk silloute . After a relalign to track the convoy I got of a shot and sunk a medium sized cargo . took her awile to go down . Iam noticing that there are no DD or Corvettes Around cant hear them in my phones or see them in my periscope .
I would venture to say that A AI uboat showed -up and sank all of those 2 DD and that last corvette . Iam guessing that there was 2 . Because I can see In my persicope the dd moving towards a an area not even close to me . Than Yes was yelled out and The TDC map showed a red sunk silloute . This was after depth charges were dropped far ahead of me . IAm using NGYM tonnage Mod I have a screen shot of the first sunken DD but dont know how to post there here . I used the event cammera to record the bobbing bow in the water as I went past it So the question is too all you vet Uboat captains . Did Sending Alot conatct reports make the AI uboats show up ?? |

Yup! NYGM 2.2 includes the wolfpack mod, so selected convoys will come with a little friend to help you out.

Well I guess not your contact reports triggered them. I think they are (randomly) scripted and don't show up every time. But none the less a nice feature!
Cheers! Mr. Fleck |

A red "sunk" ship symbol usually means you get the tonnage for that ship. Did you get the tonnage for those ships?
I'm not sure on this but if a ship sinks because it went aground or hit another ship it shows up with a black sunk symbol and you don't get the tonnage for it. |

In reply I had sunken 2 cargo vessels prior to reaching that grid from St nazerine . and than 1 more from the convoy .so no I wasnt awarded the tonnage ! In eariler post And in asking some of the vet U-boat simmers . I made the statement . that the military channel had a feature On the seris "Battle front " About . U-boats .. This was an actuall former Uboat Captian . He said that they were directed Not to attack a convoy until other boats arrived , thus why they were called wolfpacks . But until the other subs arrived than they worked tougther and attacked the convoy . SO IAm real glad that the Dev team did thir homework . its nice to know that The computer cares if you not the only one on patrol in the campaign mode |
