SH3Gen Question

I'm using 1.4 patched with TGW and SH3 Commander.

Starting my first career; I notice that besides being able to pick a quadrant with SH3 Commander you're left without much intelligence. From what I understand SH3Gen can generate reports with (depending on the config) accurate intelligence.

It's hard to believe that in '39 they would just send you out to a grid to patrol with out, at least, some rudimentary information/intelligence. The question is; would using SH3Gen to supplement the patrols be more realistic than the basic format.

TIA

Hello

I think SH3Gen is a very good program. With it you can have some idea where enemy ships are and where mies are laid. It is making things much more realistic. I never leave home without it

It depends on the settings. If you set it to 100% it will tell you exactly where everything is in the whole world; hardly realistic.

With the default settings you get some reports of things in different harbors, and sometimes it's not very accurate. I like it that way, myself.

SH3 GEN is best used im my view as Steve says. But you can move the silders around so you find the right balance for you. It is a great programe never go to sea without it.

I agree in keeping the default settings. You get that "fog of war" feeling. Maybe the info is accurate, maybe not. You also are given secondary missions that give you a bit more realism. They don't give you extra renown but they do give a feeling of accomplishment. Very good program!

Just for the record, I kept the default reliability settings in SH3Gen; I have enough cheating in SH3 being at a modest 56% realism settings
