Default Sci-Fi subs

Hello all.

I’m looking for help from the community here. Are there any games that feature realistic graphics (full 3d virtual underwater world) and futuristic submarines? Something akin maybe to seaQuest DSV?

SeaQuest DSV ? Doesn't stand a chance against the science fiction submarine par excellence (Nautilus excluded) : The SeaView.

a nice picture of the seaview

I was only using the UEO seaQuest DSV 4600 I and II as an example.

The Virtual Sailor program looks interesting - thanks for the link.

I may be dating myself, but there was one done by Microprose. I'll see if I can find it.

SubWar 2050 now there is a game that was cool but bloody hard. Well due for updating and could bring in certain resource management strategies.

What about Archimedian Dynasty and it's successors from the AquaNox series?

Truth to be told I found Archimedian Dynasty, despite being pretty old when Aquanox came out, still much better, in that you could trade with torpedoes and there were also some side quests. Aquanox on the other hand was pretty linear and not so immersive

Yeah - I have Aquanox here, but the fact that I forgot about it until you mentioned it shows about how good it actually is. It's forgettable. Not sure about the Archmedian Dynasty - i never played that one.

I remember one from Microsoft, but it's been a very long time...give me some time to find it online.

Yes, one thing to watch out for with this one is CPU speed. If the CPU is too fast, most things will seem to work, but it will not respond properly to throttle input. Probably something due to roundoff error combined with very small timesteps.
