The dat file editor for SH3 doesn't work with AOD dat files. Anyone know of a program that would ?

The only files I know how to edit are the save game files. You will need a hex editor to do this. More info on this under 'Hex-Editing the Gamesave File for "Command Aces of the Deep - Ver.1.1"' at: https://subsim.com/tips/tipaod.php

I have done an overview for editing the game here (among other things):
https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...d.php?t=240392 But I notice that you did respond in that thread What you need to edit files is a simple hex editor, maybe the free Notepad++ can do it, but there are other free editors to download. A specific menu-driven tool to edit AOD files doesn't exist to my knowledge. XS |

Yeah thanks, I tried a few of the hex editors available, but they just bring up screens that mean nothing to me hex editing knowledge-wise. It's no big deal. The only thing I'd like to change is to start at the French bases in a VII from the start vs. having to start with a II.
