SH3 v1.4b Issues
Morning everyone,
Just having some general issues patching my SH3 to v1.4b I have SH3 through Uplay digital download. When I try to patch, I am using the US digital download version, but is there one specific to people with the game through uplay? I error I get when I try to patch is "en_menu.txt:unknown version". So I have tried deleting the files that give me this error, but it eventually says "sh3.dll: unknown version" and deleting that just says that it is missing and it wont patch. I have searching all over and can't seem to find the help I need. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Before attempting to update your UPlay version Harensen359, you should check what the current version is. Navigate into your SH3 game folder, and right-click on the SH3.exe file. That will bring up a "context menu", which you would then left-click on the "Properties" item at the bottom of the list. In that little window that makes, click on the "Details" tab, and about the middle of that tab is "File version" and / or "Product version" that probably say "1.4.0.1", which does not need patching up.

So, I have concluded that I have v1.4.01 with Uplay, but I order my mods with JSGME in what I feel is the correct load order, but whenever I try to actually begin my campaign, i.e. I "start" the mission, it crashes after loading it.
Any insight? I can jump on discord if you need as well. |

Does the Stock game run OK on your machine? Does GWX run OK? If you remove the "ARB WideGui 1920x1080 v3.1" mod, does it run OK? Are you on Windows 10? Have you set the Properties of the SH3.exe file on the "Compatibility" tab for "Run this program as an administrator" and / or the compatibility mode and / or "Change high DPI settings" etc? Do you have the 4Gig Patch enabled on the SH3.exe file?

GUC could be your problem as this mod is not finished and you are missing some key elements for that mod.
Look at this post : https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...6&postcount=71 I would recommend that you look at Onealex's GWX mod which includes GUC, easy to set up, stable, and has everything included. Review this thread for details : https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...d.php?t=248010 Good hunting, FUBAR295

I feel like I have wasted everyone's time and I feel terrible..
I ended up removing the ARB Wide GUI mod, and the Adaptation for E & D mod, and the game ran fine with all mods, I then re-=enabled ARB Wide GUI and it still ran fine, it appears the issue was the Adaptation for E & D, which I should've just tried to figure out to begin with... Thanks for at least getting me where I should've went and I am sorry for wasting your time. |

That's great!!
But do not forget, you will still need to complete the modifications for GUC in order for it to perform as it should in GWX. Good hunting, FUBAR295
