Default Video Settings Help

OK, I'm Sure you guys get this all the time but I have failed to resolve this issue on my own and I'm ready to throw my laptop through the window. I recently purchased SH5 and was expecting GREAT things. But its visually choppy and jerky. This program should be running smooth....any advice?

My system:
ASUS G750JX
Windows 8.1 64 Bit
Intel Core i7 4700HQ @ 2.40GHZ
GeForce GTX 770M with 3GB dedicated VRAM
12GB DDR3 RAM

SH5:
Version 1.2
NO MODS enabled (Just trying to correct the visuals first)

I have tried playing with the sliders in game. I have tried adjusting my video card settings. All drivers, bios, etc. are up to date.

I'm getting a frame rate of 60-100 in the boat and higher outside.

Disabling anti-aliasing got rid of stuttering for me.

Tried that already....no joy. I also tried disabling vertical sync...I am confident that someone on subsim will be able to steer me towards a resolution. They seem to know more about the scripting in these games than the programmers at Ubisoft. I should also add that my resolution is set to max on my 17.3 inch screen.

That's very strange indeed. All I can suggest is experimenting with the settings. Try everything on low and see if there is any lag. If not, start upping the graphics one by one to see where's the culprit. If there's lag even on low settings, then well I don't know what could possibly be wrong. I don't know much about Windows 8, but perhaps there's some compatibility issue with Windows 8 and SH5?

My PC has much slower components, but the game runs flawlessly on almost max settings.

Use this mod, place the two files in to SH5 folder, don't enable with JSGME.

Default Finally got it up and running

So after days of tweaking, and downloading, and playing with .cfg files and anti-aliasing. it turns out that its not the program. when my laptop is off the charger it throttles the processor and video card. So now how do I fix that?! P.S. when its on the charger....amazing, my faith in the SH series has been restored.

The Batteries life span would hit rock bottom if you disabled the power-saving features it has built in. I don't even think the battery could provide enough juice to power all those components anyway, if possible, only for a tiny amount of time.

Just keep it plugged in at all times. Better for you and the computer.

Your i7 at 2.40GH is a bottleneck too. See if you can over clock it to at least 2.9 or 3.0. Go into the BIOS and see if you can raise the clock speed.

That's the problem with buying laptops, the processor is most always on the weak side. You need a processor that can do the job for gaming. It's one reason I'll never buy a laptop with a low clock speed.

I have an i5 2.81 in this desktop and SH5 played pretty good. I could raise the clock speed to 2.93 with XP 32bit and it ran better. My downfall was having only 4GBs of DDR3 RAM. Now that I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit I've jumped up the RAM to 12GBs, it should play even better once I get everything transferred over to this new HDD, and get it all set up with the mods installed.

I have an I7 Q740 (1.73 GHz) in my personal laptop (Toshiba Qosmio) and it handles SH5 just fine, even with settings turned up high. Video card is GeForce 330M, 4.0GB of system RAM, running Windows Ultimate 64bit on an OCZ Vertex 4 SSD.

With laptops the motherboard makes or brakes it. This Qosmio has a very good motherboard in it
