What things cost in Denmark
I thought I would give you an idea of what things cost in Denmark
All prices are in DKKR, but 1$ is app 5,3DKKR. Coffee in a cafe: 20-30,- Cheeseburger at McDonalds: 12,- Med Cola in town: 16-20,- Dinner, main course (without drinks): 100-200,- Depending on where you eat. Beer at a bar (50cl): 50-60,- So for the US citizens its expensive... If you have other price requests, please let me know

I just checked the hotel info.
For all of you staying in the Cabinn Scandinavia hotel: breakfast is not included. http://www.cabinn.com/English/kbh/sc...9/rooms09.html It costs 8€ / 60DKK / 11.55$ per person per day. However, I don't know the standard of their selection, so hard to tell if it's reasonable. Depends if there is much to choose from.

I think you will soon reach that amount elsewhere too, if you want to sit at a cafe, so I would suggest that you eat breakfast at the hotel.
Its also a good chance to sit down and talk

So Euro is not the official currency in Denmark (as in you can't buy stuff in a store using Euro)? And we'll need to bring Euro and exchange them at a local bank?

DKK can you pay with every places in DK. (Euro is NOT the official currency in DK)
Euro will only get acceptet in the airport, some hotels and a few eatingplaces. So you can bring some euro to the bank, and change them to DKK. Or just remember your creditcard. Most stores in DK accept Visa and Mastercard! BLUE - Euro countries ORANGE - Do not have Euro - we still got our own crown!! just until the politicians want us to wote again, and get the yes they want to. RED - 3 candidates for the Euro - they need some stability in their economy.

You can pay with Euro bills, no coins, in many places, but usually at a bad exchange rate.
You better have credit cards like VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Diners, VISA electron and EC/Maestro. And you should definitely have some of your own money exchanged into Danish currency. I'm not really aware, where you can get the best exchange rate. I have a 6th sence telling me that the worst place to do it, is in the airport. There is a small cash exchange office just next to the place, where you'll be waiting for your luggage to arrive. Sorry, but I did not think about to have a look, when I was there a few weeks back, at what prices they had. But it's an option... Or maybe you can do it in a bank in your own country...

Thanks for clearing that up guys. Not having a credit card myself, I'll see if my bank here can help me out and if so, at what rates.

Hmm,
I'm not going to buy al lot of Danish crowns here, don't want to carry all that much cash around, however, my atm card will work in Denmark for getting cash, the exchange costs will be somewhat bad though. But, since the Rates in Denmark for euro to DKK won't be too bad I might bring some cash euros. |

I've been told (by colleagues who travel to Denmark regularly) that the cheapest and most efficient way to get Danish crowns is to use a EC / Maestro card at a cash dispenser.
