Default Deck Awash and crew orders, and another question

Hello folk,
I am using the mod TWoS mostly. I often use the deck awash position to approach ships. My concern is that the game is considering that I am submerged, so I cannot use some orders like "nearest visual contact", "weather report" or anything related to a normal surfaced sub. I wonder if any of you managed to find a way to avoid such situation?

Another concern is the precision in requesting a specific speed. If I click exactly on the speed I want, like 8 knot, even if my 36 inch screen is big enough to be sure to click on the 8, the sub will often go at 9 or 7 knots but almost never the speed I want.

And finaly my last question. I only have the mission "South Western Approach" left on my campaign, the 9 May 1940. I think I sunk almost 100.000 tons of ships but the mission is still active. Is there a way to know how far I am to complete it ?

Thank you for your help !

Don’t forget too, that if you are decks awash and the sea is rough, destroyers hear your engines.

Thanks , I never had this issue. I only use deck awash when the sea is calm, but that's good to know ^^
