At least I can find no mention of PC on the site. It only shows XBox 360 and PS3 in the logos on the bottom.

That's okay, because I'm getting a PS3! IMO it would have been better for them to make a port for PC. It would've opened it up to many more people who don't feel like shelling out 5 or 600 dollars for a console.

And then you would be able to play it.

I already have all that, so to me it is not even an issue.

So? It wouldn't be just for Assassin's Creed but for other titles as well, duh. 'Storm of War: Battle of Britain' (Il-2 next episode) is said to be absolute monster as far as system reqs are concerned, just to name a one. You gotta update your PC every now and then anyhow, what's the big deal?

You need to update you box almost as often as you console. Okay like twice as often but you get way more value for your buck with the PC I believe. Aside from the number of games, the ability to shred the game code and build custom mods is something consoles still can't do. Not to mention the fact that the new DX10 cards will already look better than all the new consoles.

PC's require about $2K every 2 years to keep on the top of the game. I've been doing that since I can't remember. It is the curse of the PC gamer, but one I have been willing to shoulder and plan to continue to shoulder since no console will ever give you the capability or depth in a game that a PC can. When is the last time you had a real good flight sim on a console?

With the new Windows Vista you will run here into a problem, Vista permits you to change the mainboard+cpu only once, the second time you can buy along a new Vista

Really? One more reason to keep your old OS then- I'm still running Win2kPro and planning to do so until they give me a very good reason indeed to change it. I don't know, seems M$ doesn't know how to run things properly. Hmph, what else is new,then.

Really?
Yes, reported at least by several PC technology magazines here in Germany who has tested RC2 of Vista.

There is also a blog by the Vista devs:
http://blogs.technet.com/windowsvist...r-Windows.aspx

The interesting part is:
On that note, today MS.com published the retail license terms for Windows Vista; you can find them here. Two notable changes between Windows Vista license terms and those for Windows XP are: 1) failure of a validation check results in the loss of access to specific features (this is the SPP news you’ve likely been reading about this past week);

I don't know If just a change of the video card for example results in a validation check failure but twice a change of mainbord or cpu does, said the testers in the PC magzines.

The bad thing, if want to play DirectX10 Games in the future, you will need Vista because as far as I know it will no be available for XP/2000.

Yeah, actually those DirectX10 games are the only thing that I'm worrried about. There're several interesting titles coming up and I'll be damned if I can't play those. However, I wouldn't be really worried about Vista just now, regarding upgrading ones 'puter. a) Vista ain't ready yet
b) M$ will have to back down on this or there's no ending for the b....ing they're about to receive. They already allowed security software companies an access to Vista, so I expect they've to do something also on this. There'll be quite exciting hardware stuff coming up soon- chips, boards and and cards- and M$ simply can't afford to get a bad rep when people will begin to upgrade their machines. Hackers are just itching for that kinda opportunity.
