Hey all,
Wow, it's been awhile since I've been here, mostly because I stopped playing SH3. Anyways, the biggest reason I stopped playing was because my computer could barely run the game, and it would frequently crash while I was playing. I recently got a new laptop though, that more then exceeds every one of the games recommended specs, so I reinstalled, and went to play it the other day. Then I realized that since my laptop doesn't have a number pad, I can't compress time in game. I'm thinking of maybe going out and getting a keyboard that connects by usb (my laptop doesn't have a keyboard port), but I figured I'd check to see if any of you knew a way to change the controls of the game. If I could just change those two buttons from the number pad to the plus/minus beside the speed controls (which aren't used for anything) I would be set. Thanks for any help, and it's great to be back playing this game trix ![]() |

Those key commands definintely can be moved to other keys. Get 'set key' ( http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/ [left side column] content/downloads/shiii downloads/tools/set key). It is simple to install. Go to the folder 'data/cfg/commands_en' and copy and save an unmodded backup first. Even though set key makes one automatically when you save I don't trust it. The time compression entries are like 4 down --ie you won't even have to scroll or 'find'. Change to what you want; it is easy to use. Then save through the menu bar/ file/save (must do that). Unused keys are available(can't think which ones tho)--the prog will tell if the key command you are attempting is used. You may want to clear the 'head to view' and 'view to head' ('-' & '=' plus and minus) and then make your new time comp those keys. |
