Default Radio Contact!!

What does the "radio contact message" really mean? I dont have Radar, and enemy ships are alot closer than the range estimated by the Radioman (It's January 1941..)..... What is the radioman referring to?

Default Radio Contacts

There are two types of radio contacts. Ones that are within 300km which are usually single ships, sometimes two ships. And ones that are within 1500km which are convoys, task forces or warships.

The close single ship contacts can generally be reached within a few hours at maximum speed and are fairly easy to locate. The convoys which are usually further away can be a lttle tricky to locate because they may chage direction while the single ship contacts generally do not. Plot an intercept coarse based on contact's speed and direction, then begin looking out for them when you get within visual or hydrophone distance.

I hope this explanation is what you were looking for.

What it "really" means is that OKM has picked up a radio transmission from a ship in your area, and they are sending you a message to tell you where it came from.

mmmmm :hmm: ... so that's what that button does... I've pressed and pressed it like a gazzilion times and it never did anything for me maybe it's yet another example of a poorly implemented feature that only does something when playing at very low levels of realism?
