Hello, I'm trying to find few pictures and possibly related articles I saw few years back and am now asking for help if someone knows what I mean and could possibly provide info.
1) There is a picture of kriegsmarine submarine commander practising measuring distance to targets. If I remember correctly it's a kind of simulator where there is small bridge built inside a room, and projector projecting a film to a canvas. 2) This might be later than ww2. There was a simulator where captains practiced submerged attacks with periscope, where the periscope was mounted to a ceiling in a building and on the upper floor where the periscopes lens was there were trash can sized cabled electrically moving "robots" that had miniature ships mounted on them. I believe this was an american system. These pictures might have been in books I've read or on some website. Any information, possible links or scanned pics much appreciated. Thank you. |
