fixed 'Souz' Battleship & 'Tallinn' Heavy Cruiser

Hi Kaleuns,

more than one year ago a russian mate ['Fox Mulder'] released his cloned soviet ships. But the included 'Souz' Battleship and 'Tallinn' Heavy Cruiser always caused CTDs. I tried to fix this issue. Give it a try:

Badongo.com: Fixed Soviet Ships [maybe you've to rename the downloaded file to 'fixed Soviet Ships.rar']

UltraShare.net: Fixed Soviet Ships

Greetings,
SSB

Greetings,

Those are just a KGV Battleship and a Hipper class cruiser with a commie flag on it. Russians never had such ships.

No way will I be installing them. Prefer to buy X1 crap instead.

Again it shows your ignorance
The Tallin was the former Lutzow ( sister ship to the Hipper ) given to the Russians in April 40
And while they never had the KGV class they had the Revenge class ( Royal Sovereign ) lent to the Russians in 44

Sojuz class Russian BB - the KGV clone is an attempt by the Russian community to add some Russian ships which are sorely missing from the stock game
Not perfect but at least they had a go

And its free

Whats the point off adding ships that look nothing like the real thing. Just makes a mockery of Sh3.

Its a naval simulator not an arcade game. As for the Talinn ....It was incomplete when given to the Ruskies then sunk as soon as the Nazi's invaded. Played no part in the u-boat war.

No one said it played a part in the uboat war
A lot of the ships in stock game played no part and a lot of ships\aircraft that did arent included

As for the Tallin

The ship (the former Lützow) was initially titled Project 53 but in September 1940 became the Petropavlosk. By 1941 she began to look like a fighting ship, having main guns in both A and D turrets. With Germany secretly planning the invasion of Russia (Operation Barbarossa), the technical support slowly dwindled, leaving her around 75% complete by time of the German invasion. Even at this stage, Petropavlosk was towed to Call harbour on the 15th August 1941 and used as a floating battery, defending Leningrad against advancing German army units. After firing over 600 rounds she became disabled (after receiving 53 hits) on the 17th September 1941, subsequently she flooded and settled in shallow water. After exactly one year the Petropavlosk was raised in darkness, in the early hours of the 17th September 1942 and towed to Neva, so repairs could be started. By January 1944 she possessed only three serviceable 8in guns, which she put to use to bombard retreating German units (firing over 1000 rounds) during the break out of Leningrad. In September 1944 she was renamed the Tallin, moving to the Baltic so her planned construction could be completed. Post war, the Tallin was redesigned, but by 1948 the expense of the modifications was equal to a newly built Sverdlov cruiser. This was unjustifiable and all further work on her was stopped. She next became a static training ship under the name of Dnepr before ending her days as the accommodation ship PKZ-112. The ship was removed from Russian Naval listings in 1958 and broken up in 1960 at the Vtorchermet yards, Leningrad.

As with all mods if ya dont like em dont use em
Easy to critisize someone elses work tho not as easy to release your own

Name one stock ship that was not used against U-Boats!

Its Russian Destroyers that are needed from the Ruskies not a KGV battleship and a hipper clone which had no impact what so ever onthe u-baot war.

Hey boys,

don't quarrel. Nobody is forced to use these ships. I stored this mod more than one year on my HD and when I fixed the 'Kclass plane prob' I remembered that it never worked.

I'm not the author of this mod -> my intention was to make it work - not more, not less.

I had no knowledge of the historic background but I think the author [FoxMulder] has; that had probably been the reason to create this mod.

After my rework of this mod it's now possible to use different textures to the base ships.

SSB

P.s.: @bigboywooly -> I noticed the correct name is 'Sojuz' not 'Souz' - is that right? I only adapted the incorrect name from original mod - maybe the Russians have no 'j' on their keyboards?
