I don't think so. Last I observed they used yellow plastic film badge dosimeters. Although the type of dosimeter varied depending on the expected exposure of that person.

Default Pen Type

All of wore film badges and then the we nukes would carry pocket dosimeter of the pen type-they clipped to your collar or pocket for exposure when you worked in the compartment during shutdown. You could monitor them yourself to limit your exposure, not real accurate but a sage guard more or less. The film badge was your main reading-Corpsman collected them and read them but I don't remember how often. You logged your dosimeter reading your self and then discharged for further use. I believe it had a 5 REM scale, but not sure anymore.

Thanks for the info, the model I show was used in the mid 80 (84-86) by the USN.

Never seen anything like that while I was in. We had TLD's -- Thermo-Luminescent Dosimeters.

We wore them on our belts typically. Only us nukes or those exposed to ionizing radiation (aka working in the engineering spaces daily) had them. It was the easest way to identify a nuke on sight. Look for the little black thing on the belt loop.

The foreward folks had a film badge that was read quarterly if I remember correctly.
