I do have it and I highly recommend it.
It is a must have, I have read it several times and it is always nice to have handy when some doubts arise even in game.
It is the 50% of the game
Is this kind of book that never get old. I still have my 688i Hunter Killer paper manual and It is surely a nice one to read to remember the submarine basics and sonar stuff.

I like my manual the only think I wish they had include was a section on using the Mission Editor it is on CD 1 I hate those manuals on the CD some many pages to try to print I think you could use this manual with SC would have to add some notes that was for SC only
Like in your in your Appendix for in -game sensors things like that
I Just installed SC a few days ago and plan to go to manual on CD and hand copy some different's in DW and SC in the manual
Buy the Manual

The manual truly is a must have for those who want to get serious about the game. It is really nice to have around.

Also, I noticed the picture of the manual is of the old design. Has the cover design been updated at all for the new release of the game?

The manuals are from the Battlefront version, they went with a large bulk printing of the first edition, with more manuals produced than the first edition CD's (I think...), because it was cheaper to do it that way.

Once they sell out of the first edition manuals, they will print a new manual with the new cover.

It's a collector's item, get it while you can.

So how is it different from the original manual?

I'd be keen to buy if it's different - I'm happpy to support SCS and their products if it means the sim will keep developing

Any chance of a version of this coming out in a smaller font and size, such that it would fit in the retail box? Maybe perfect bound instead of spiral (if that works better)?

Thanks all for your suggestions to buy the printed manual. A 570-page PDF file is not too enjoyable to read! Just bought the printed version using Jamie's link....

Gosh I've always enjoyed SCS manuals. The 688(i) and the DW manuals are the two most helpful manuals I've ever recieved with a game.
