Default A recommendation for GW!

Hello there

I'm wondering if it would pe possible to edit the GW mod a bit.

I know that the NYGM damage mod is very realistic, but can't we please choose!

In the realism menu there is the realistic sinking times checkbox. Couldn't you make it so that choosing the realistic sinking times&torpedo damage would usse the NYGM model, but offchecking it would edit it to the DEFAULT sh3 (unrealistic in some peoples eyes, realistic in others) sinking times???

If you want the stock sinking times put the stock ships back into your GW install
They have the stock damage on them

We have found that the NYGM ship damage models are not a good fit for GW and we are removing them.

As mentioned in the "work underway" thread we are entirely re-designing the ship damage models from scratch for both merchants and warships to be included in GWX.

BTW, I do not know your definition of "realistic" but stock-version sinking times are historically correct to me. A working magnetic torpedo would kill the ship instantly.

If you have a stock install on your system
Copy the contents of the data\Sea folder and paste into your current install - same with the data\air folder
Say yes to overwrite ships already in there
and bingo

I have this on one of my installs for Wolfpack campaign

If you dont have stock install on your comp

You would also need to revert a part of your zones.cfg file. Not replace it altogether, since this would break the Holywood Damage mod (u-boat damage).
