Default Great Start!

Man I am off to a great start in this career I just started. I am using NYGM and everyone says that contacts are much more rare and so are convoys. Well on my 1st patrol I found a convoy with an Auxiliery Cruiser and I also bagged a tanker.

Just started my 2nd patrol and I run into a battle group. Bagged me a Revenge battleship although I was aiming for a Nelson the Revenge stepped infront and took all 4 eels Still took 45 min beofre she sunk. I just regret not seeing it happen I was well on my way to 150 meters when I heard the premature explositions. Unfortunentely I am playing full realism 100% no event cam either.

The best part they never even found me I heard one faint ping and that's all she wrote they moved on out of there. Weird there were J class, tribal and another unidentified destroyer. I was sure that I would be under for hours.

I hope I make it back to port haven't even reached my patrol area yet.

They were using the destroyers to help the survivors.

Gee... I thought I was lucky when I found an escort-less convoy in AM19. A few tankers (medium and small), several large cargoes (pre-NYGM C3s), and then the typical small fry. I emptied my torpedoes and deck gun at them, then went home.

Every time I've had a task force pop up, it's always been travelling too fast in the wrong direction, so I never had a chance to catch up. Nobody wants to play with me

They arn't a lot of fun but what do you define as a TF? HK's or TF's with bb's and cruisers with dd escorts. the tonnage is fine if you find a bb or an A/C in the middle the last time I encounted a TF I had 3 fish in my forward tubes (45) and them b*stards can see you miles off,

Last one I saw, I couldn't tell its composition... it was that far off. I managed to catch sight of them as they were sailing off into the horizon at +17 knots. My poor VIIB couldn't have caught up, period. It was early in the war, though, before January of '40.

I did forget about the first TF I saw, though... Illustrious class carrier in the middle of it. This was a while ago, just after I started playing SH3 again after a several month hiatus. I was rusty, and submerged right in front of the TF. It barreled on down to me, and I lined up for a perfect shot on the carrier... just to have it zig at the right moment (right for it, wrong for me). The zig aimed it right for me... I realized how rusty I was, submerged and ran silent, and escaped out the back end. Got out safe, but without firing a single fish. Good thing, too, probably... saved that captain (only to get rammed trying to sink a coastal merchant in the Channel. Learned that lesson, too).
