hey, newbie quetion here. i just started playing a couple days ago and was wondering how you check the fathometer to see what depth the ocean floor is at?

I think when you click on navigator officer, and goto depth under keel...
I hope you mean about that....

Yeah, you can only do it by sending a ping to the floor, right? So don't do it when there are foes about.

The only other way to do it is to right-click on the Navigator himself and 'become' him. Then you can click the echelot yourself. You have to figure out how to read it, though; much easier to just click on the Navigator icon and Reports, then the one on the far right. as was said before, it's 'Depth Under Keel'.

thansk for the replies guys. i have one more question though. im running GW 1.1 and was wondering how long it takes you guys to find a convoy. ive traveled all the way to a67 and have been patroling for a couple days and havent spotted any ship yet. now i know this is realistic, but im just wondering how long it usually takes you?

On my first patrol ever with GW and hit a convoy West of Ireland on the way to my patrol grid.
