SHIII runs fine on my desktop:
1.4 GHz Pentium 4, 512 MB RAM, 256 MB video card (GeForce FX5700VE) Perhaps you can just upgrade your video card.

:hmm: an 32 mb Vid card...that can cause problems running SH3 I think. cause on the Box 64 Ram is the minimal Requirement to run the game , 128 Ram is adviced
So, Probally you must upgrade ur Graphic card. I'll say go to an 128 Ram or if you have enough money go for an 256 Ram. and an 1 GB ram memory update ![]()

I run SHIII on a laptop and for the first two missions I ran it on a Video card that had just 32MB of Memory. It actually ran, albeit a bit slowly. If you can handle some choppiness when attacking convoys and in harbors, don't add graphic intensive mods and lower the particle setting, you should be able to play it. You might also improve things by setting the Dirrect 3d settings for your card to lower values to improve things.
You do not say what video card you have, I have a Nvidia FX GO 5200 and this is the absolute minimum you would want to play SHIII. I have since upgraded to the 64MB version of this same card and performance shot up at least 50% (it is still a tiny bit choppy in harbors). My other specs: 3GHZ Pentium IV mobile 1GB RAM and the Nvidia FX Go 5200 w/64MB 5400 RPM HD

Well...if its 32MB vid card...be sure its an Chipset of Nvida or Ati. or else I'm afraid that the game would run after all.
A good/cheap card is one of the Nvidia's FX cards for example the FX5500 128 mb. Surf on the internet a bit and check the prices ![]()

I was able to run SH3 on a Duron 1Ghz with 512MB RAM quite happily. I did however have a 64MB GeForce Ti 4200.
That PC's died now, so no more SH3 until I can afford an upgrade! ![]() |

I run SHIII on my work computer (untill tomorrow, when I leave, so show me that new horizon, Yo Ho!)
It's specs are, P4 2.8 Ghz 512MB RAM shared with graphics It run SHIII OK, the frame rate can get a little jerky and firing the AA guns with you at the controls and a lot of action on screen can slow it down, but it works! I heard the new job has better computers, so be warned any who wander in front of my torpedos |
