Few patrols ago I set of out of W/haven to patrol AN34 that's fine no probs did 24hrs there (well 20 hrs) get a radio message saying Operation Harmut is underway all u-boats to keep stict protical or words to that affect a Freindly TF leaves W/Havan dong 25 KNTS heading NNW well going to Narvik I was in a position to join this escapade but instead of going to Narvik I went to Trodheim looking for joy anyway radio messages doin my head in for 128HRS when I seen a TF heading for Nabos intercepted it an sank the lot then got the radio message all U-boats in the Trodheim area that are not involved in resupply duties withdraw I thoght "bollocks" but could njot do anything due to crap weather, and no torps left.so I returned to base.
Now NEXT timeIm sent to patrol AM37 and I get a repot of a TF in AN42 and a freindly Warship just SSW of Bergan doing 18knts at first I thought this TF is chaseing this Type 36A but I do 8 week patro; return this TF is still there. I dock exit the game start anouther patrol now am to patol AM23 get in to the AM grid and this patrol comes up again did my patrol now it's late April nearly May 40 am in brest this TF is still being reported "WHAT THE HELL IS IT" has anybody intercepted this TF? Pretty sure it's an HK group. If it circles around SE of Scapa flow in 40/41, it's an HK group. I've intercepted it - it's 5 destroyers. Steer clear of it. No tonnage, plenty of problems.

If this is during the Norwegian campaign, starting April 10 1940, then it could be a carrier group. I found that out during an earlier career with RuB mod installed. I was fortunate enough to be in the path of the group when I got the contact report, and I managed to close to attack distance and sunk the carrier. Unfortunately the escorts weren't pleased and spent 2 hours real time kicking my ass, ending in my surfacing and surrender. I find that most of the time you are nowhere near a TF when you get a contact report, but those that are near every now and again contain the odd carrier or perhaps a battleship or two. If you manage to get close, let us know how you get on!!

Just as I thought no problems just transfered to the 2 flottilla so my patrol girds are nowhere near them.

Heh heh heh... so you think. Youve got a whole nother HK group to worry about late 42, early 43 to the end of the war. Youve got to break out of the valley of death and the waters just past it. and W, NW of spain. And thats where they like to loiter.
