My patrol grid is broken..

I've been trying a few careers in the Med, but I keep getting assigned patrol grid '0'

.
I'm using; latest RUb, NYGM RUb campain files and latest Commander (in that order).
Does anyone know how I can get real patrol areas?

What type of boat are you using, and what year is it in game?

use the latest version of SH3 commander and you can assign yourself a patrol grid.

Either a VIIB or C, I've been starting between Jan-June of '42 from La Spezia.
Occasionly for no apparent reason it will give me a patrol grid, but mostly it just says '0'

.

I know commander lets me assign a grid (except for the first one

) but then I would have to work out a bunch of proper grids (eg, not on land) and choose them randomly each time
