Default LW/Ami mod and the AI

Hi all,

I'm new at this, so perhaps I've missed something.

My question: having just installed the excellent LW/AMI mod, I want to know if the AI is aware of the changes to buoy depths. Now that VLADs are completely inappropriate for shallow water, will the AI never use them in shallow seas? Does it understand that DIFAR will be necessary for looking above the layer?

Does the AI ever drop anything but deep difars to begin with?

The AI doesn't do much in terms of chosing sonobuoys, as Molon said I think they only drop difars.

When we were making the first version with the new buoy depths, I looked closely at AI sonobuoy dropping and decided that I didn't see anything that would give me concern, and also noted that the AI is pretty bad about dropping buoys in the first place.

I think SCS may have tightened up the AI code for aircraft sonobuoys and a few other things because I have found that contrary to what I thought, some AI behavior is not controlled by doctrines but rather at the level of the game engine itself.
