Default Help With Decks Awash And IUB 1.02

I just finished re-installing my os and SH3 but I could use a little help. The RadioRoom seems to be having a problem so... I can't get decks awash to work. I have SH3 Commander and IUB 1.02 installed. If anyone knows what settings I should alter in the submarine .cfg files I'll gladly do it "by hand". Thanks in advance

where can you get decks awash without instaling RUB? I know that didn't answer your question.

At one point there was a thread where the proper depth settings for each class of U-boat was given. All you had to do was edit a line or two in each subs' cfg file. The setting controls at what depth your deck crew drops down the ladder and dogs the hatch. I've made this moddification before but I don't know the correct numbers anymore.

I´ve packed the relevant RUb cfg files:
http://home.arcor.de/gizzmoe/files/CS.zip

JetSnake, you can use them, too, you don´t need any other files to get the "deck awash" feature. Unpack the archive to the main SH3 dir.

Aha ! You're awsome Gizzmo, the crew of the U-41 thanks you. Now if BDU would just point me to a large convoy in the English Channel......

But isn't decks awash doesn't mean anything in SH3 and you still get detected the same manner?

Yep, but I hear that the crash dive time is almost reduced in two.

Normal dives are also much, much faster.

Is that realistic? A 15s dive time just becasue the boat is 1-2m lower?

15s? Not in a type VII IIRC. Well, the ballast tanks are partly filled with water, everything is prepared for a dive. I don´t know if the dive time is 100% realistic, but to me it makes sense.

Question for you....

Wouldn't the increased weight (ballast tanks partly flooded) reduce your overall surface speed while travelling with decks awash?

Yes, increased weight, increased drag. IIRC the sub is about 25% slower.
