Default Fatal Error

I was looking in the SubSim news and saw this article:

Quote:
In 2006 a decision about dismantling the fastest in the world nuclear powered submarine Project 661 (Anchar), known in the West by its NATO Papa class, will be taken in 2006.
Bellona

Didn't the one and only Papa-class SSGN suffer an accident and sink in 1988 in the Norwegian Sea?

Nope, I think that you're thinking of the Mike, another one off that sank in the Norwegian Sea in 1988, not the Papa.

There were such incidents with two Charlie I boats: K-313 and K-429. Both accidently sunk when were at base, but later both were raised.
There were no such incidents with Papa. Though, K-162 (later K-222) suffered a moderate reactor accident. But didn't sink.
Papa also was nicknamed "Golden Fish" - the same as Alfa. It was unofficial nickname given to any boat that is modern, but expencive and difficult in service.
