But I hope that I am always respectfull.
I would expect that if any of us unwittingley stray into ''defense'' sensitive areas that the mods would pull a post and PM us with 'Blue pencil' Thats mandatory - yes. The timing of the arrival of LwAmi's latest mod cannot be welcomed by SS. The onus is on them to react to simmers requirements. As a bubblehead David I am watching very closely how the changes (patch and 2.01) impinge on the eternal SW v Ak conflict. The Aks stand-off weapon range is traded against the Sws greater TA range and the proposed SA range extension I hope will be ballanced to maintain challenging gameplay. The menu you propose is mouth watering - good work and thank you both.

The SA and the Hull arrays still aren't going to be much use against covert submerged contacts.
I should mention also that there is now variability between the SA and Hull arrays of various platforms, in terms of quality: SW, then 688i, then Akula, then Kilo. But as I said, this won't matter much for sub vs. sub warfare. The changes are only intended to increase the usefulness of the "other arrays" in generating situation awareness, not as an aid for tactical prosecution in ASW. The changes significant enough that I'm not sure how it's going to work out in practice, to be honest, but it ought to be much closer to the picture painted in the Ehime Maru AAR. I can't wait for the MP test! ![]()

Its just that some scenarios can drop you into 'knife-fight' proximity, with threats among the traffic
![]() But dont lets get embroigled in the 'reality' roundabout debate. ![]()

Can the AI determine the depth of a sub somehow to set depth accordingly? |

Human controlled torpedoes go to the depth you set, as always.
There was a meters to feet miscalculation in the doctrine and interface that prevented AI subs from launching torpedoes at the proper depth, meaing they would fire torpedoes too shallow in ASW. With the recalculation in the doctrine, the AI now fires torpedoes at properly deep levels, sometimes below layers in ASW. The randomized air-drop depth is for subrocs and AI ASW aircraft. Those torpedoes will have a randomized depth that is sometimes under the layer, if there is one, but will always be 30 feet or more off the bottom. Thanks for your interest in our Mod! ![]() ![]()
