Guys as a result of an upgrade I had to reinstall the game, then the patch 1.4. played it once and it worked fine, I then installed the gramaphone mod, and the smoke mod (which I had before) now it gets to half way through and I get a message saying SH has a problem and needs to close, and this is in a microsoft message format.
What is wrong ![]() ![]() Update: uninstalled the game and reinstalled then patched to 1.4, no mods, andj ust as I thought it would work it failed again. System Specs: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+ 1.80GHZ 1.00GBRAM Video Card Winfast A360 TDH G Force FX5700 |

Try cleaning your registry. I've found bad entries in there that fouled things up, and once cleaned out, the game worked again.

new mb and cpu...new mb probably requires a format and fresh install of windows. your current windows is set up for your old parts, irq, chipset drivers, etc. i myself would have done that first but i've been building for some time. you'll have all knds of problems if you load drivers for your new stuff and don't uninstall the old. good luck.
or did you do that already...not sure what you've done. do you have problems with other apps or just sh3? |

if you're having problems in other apps, it sounds like something is wrong with the set up of your new hardware. you might need the latest video drivers or something along that line. please answer these questions:
after you installed the new mb and cpu, did you then reformat your hard drive and then install windows xp pro? sp2? install chipset drivers? latest sound and video drivers? i'm not sure how tech savvy you are especially if you not comfortable going in the registry, so i'm thinking setup problem. go to control panel -> system -> hardware tab -> device manager do you have any yellow ?'s or !'s any conflicts showing? |

so when the guy finished doing the work for you, sh3 and all your apps were still loaded on your system? was there any problems in the device manager?
try using other programs and see if its more a system problem than a sh3 problem. if more programs like the hoyle game don't work you might ask that guy for help again. hoyle should not crash. btw, you are experiencing CTD - crash to desktop. the windows message you are getting is a generic microsoft message. ctd's are not so bad usually. most times its just software. |
