Default That lazy Watch Officer again ...

Once the watch crew are qualified so that you get a full green bar without the WO being dragged out of bed, is there any point in disturbing his sleep any more? Does he make any actual difference in terms of spotting and reporting visual contacts?

I ask because when I use a lot of TC, it's a pain to have to drop TC to get the poor little guy out of bed and onto the bridge every time I surface. TIA.

The WO reports the bearing and range to the spotted ship, without him you only get a normal "ship spotted" message. There´s no difference in spotting distance. Actually the spotting distance is always the same, no matter how qualified your crew is.

Thanks, Gizzmoe - I'll leave him snoring from now on.

uh, you would think that the WO would increase spotting distance, or make it increase with the crew's quals
