Default Why are my flakgunners firing at Axis planes?

Why are my flakgunners firing at Axis planes?
I was just finishing a small merchant with the heavy flak, when I got "plane spotted" message. I've changed to bridge, and ordered ahead flank. For next few second I have seen a Ju-87 bombing the merchant (no renown for me, of course) and then going down in flames with the stacatto of flak fire, before I had any chance to order to hold fire. "Friendly Unit Destroyed" and a few hundreds of renown points just disappeared from my account. I've had the same situation again later on the next patrol, but this time I quickly removed flakgunners from their post (works faster than ordering to cease fire).
Do the game scripts consider any airplane in range as enemy? I had two trained flakgunners and a sailor on the post (IX/I turm, three flakgunners), and the planes were marked as "friendly" (blue icons on the map). The game is v.1.4, so WTF? Another unmarked bug?

I read this being discused in the visibility mod thread as a problem with the mod they are working on. You happen to be running that mod?

Nope, I only have the vulnerability mod, which changes some .tga pictures and nothing more. And my flakgunners seem to fire at anything that flies!

That's interesting - there was some discussion as to whether an ai range caused that.

You'll just have to watch what your crew are doing I guess.

I think I will order 20+ copies of Luftwaffe Recognition Manual next time in port.

By the way, can you try disabling the vulnerablity mod and just confirming that you get the friendly fire bug with vanilla 1.4?

Well... I don't see how it could have any influence on the AI, as the Full Vulnerability Mod by Nemesis only overwrites a few TGA images from the recognition manual and does no changes anywhere in the game scripts.
