Here's what happened:
On my last patrol, some things went wrong and I decide it would be better to start off once more *usually I don't do this, but my beloved weapons officer got killed, so I make an exception*. I decide to exit the game with the Windows Task Manager (obviously a bad decision). As it was quite late, I also decide to go to bed. ![]() Next day, I start the game, load the last save, and it crashes to desktop after loading up all of the saved game (roughly after reaching the heading "Initialising"). ![]() I try other saved games from my 5 careers, same result. I disable all mods, same result. I do a full reinstall and run with/without mods, same result. The only thing I can do, is start a new career. It will then load up normally. ![]() I do a system restore to a checkpoint a week ago, and the game crashes without even displaying the entry screen. ![]() I'm pretty lost on this one, so any help would be appreciated. Any ideas ? |

Had this problem.
Some versions cant have 2 carreers at the same time. Copy your old save (in my documents) to the new career folder. Copy the old folder to another location, so that you only have 1 career in your my documents folder. |

Found the solution:
Started again from port and it worked. ![]() Apparently ending the game forcefully invalidates all saved games in progress. |

Did you change any mods after you saved the game?
Often changing mods is responsible for that. Especially when the mod changes any of the campaign layer files. This will always result in a CTD. However, I had the problem twice before that I couldn't load a saved game, even though I didn't touch the mods. Starting from port always solves that problem, though. |
