Anyone ever see this problem with AOD?

AOD [DOS] (original game + expansion + 1.2 patch)

I recently have been having a problem where sim thinks I am submerged even though I am on the surface. Thus, I cannot dive; I cannot surface; and I cannot run on diesels. It has happened to me a couple of times now. Anyone ever see this and/or know how to work around it?

I think I am going to try to reinstall. It's possible I screwed up the expansion and the patch, since I didn't actually run them, but instead did them by hand.

I played Aces of the Deep Command version a lot in the past,but I did never encounter such problems.
The only thing I could suggest is to do an clean reinstall of the game plus its patch.

Yes, I think I may have incorrectly applied the expansion and patch. I rebuilt the install by hand, since the BAT files don't work too well under XP. Hopefully, that should resolve it. I know I definitely had a mistake previously, since I now see the type XXI available in instant missions.
